ABOUT CHAMPACA

A story of two countries,
bound by fragrance.

The champaca is an evergreen of the magnolia family. Known in Vietnam as the “white champaca,” it has long been treasured as a sacred temple tree and a prized ingredient in fine perfumery.

Central Vietnam was once home to the Kingdom of Champa — its name drawn from the Sanskrit “campaka.” Through the thriving incense trade of the port city of Hoi An, champaca essence traveled across the sea to Japan, where it was cherished in the tea ceremony and the art of incense as an “exotic mystery.”

When Princess Ngoc Hoa of Champa met Sotaro Araki, a merchant from Nagasaki, champaca petals were given as a token of everlasting friendship.

Two countries with different languages and cultures, joined by fragrance and sincerity. We carry this story forward — creating a place where hearts and bodies unwind across every border, under the Saigon sky, with the careful hospitality of Japan.

25 years as a hair professional Keratin treatment supervisor

Twenty-five years in the Japanese hair industry, independent since 2011, and Head Spanist Director at Birthree CHAMPACA since 2023. He supervises our salon so that the technique and keratin chemistry of Tokyo's top salons can be experienced exactly as they are — in Saigon.

Every therapist debuts only after rigorous hands-on training over two months under Japanese instructor supervision, followed by certification exams.
